"Whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well." - Philip Dormer Stanhope, c. 1774
Hillemann Homes prefers to maintain a low-volume workload, in order to personally run projects and be with clients every step of the way. From day one, to handing over the keys, I'm the single point of contact for everyone involved in the project. Not only providing clients with the personal attention and accountability they deserve, but also allowing them to realize lower overhead costs and avoid additional supervisory costs. Biltmore Residence
(Design/Build)

This 3300 sq ft home was designed in partnership between Werner and Joanne Hillemann, Architect. It features a soaring timber framed Great Room, custom timber trusses designed to allow for suspended/free-spanning ridge beam, custom stone fireplace, custom quartersawn oak cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless steel accents. The courtyard design provides leaward wind-sheltered patio dining and gardening, while the mountain and orchard views are maximized through generous north facing window expanses. Hand-crafted exposed wood ceilings highlight the tower/library and entry breezeway. Radiant floors efficiently heat the daylight basement.
Wilbur Residence-Suncadia*

This contemporary home by Johnston Architects incorporates many unique features, including weathered corrugated metal siding and three types of roof systems (single-ply membrane, composition, and standing seam metal). Challenges included expansive timber structured overhangs with concealed steel reinforcing; along with interesting architectural details, like the "collectors" (transitional spaces) with short ceilings and extreme low-sloping roofs. Double, collapsible Nana doors open off the kitchen and dining rooms on to the covered patio and golf greens, affording spectacular views and indoor/outdoor entertaining.

Evert Residence-Suncadia*

This Nelson Preserve home was designed by Architect Rick Jones and Associates, and built on a sloping site just above the Cle Elum river and historic mine shaft fan-house. Features include a timber accented Great Room, below-grade wine cellar, outside entertainment area, and custom "catio". The home was insulated with custom high-density spray-foam throughout the exterior walls and "stick" framed roof areas (non-trussed), providing a super-efficient building envelope.

Fresh Residence-Suncadia*

This sustainable home has a built-in radiant heat system, beautiful custom timber framing and energy efficient SIP (Structurally Insulated Panel) construction throughout. This is truly a "custom" home, incorporating many owner inspired/provided features and details, such as hand-painted tile work, antique Turkish marble sink (fabricated drain onsite, as no one else would risk potentially damaging it), custom stone carved vessel sinks and antique Asian furniture converted into bathroom vanities. The subterranean wine cellar allows for a true connoisseur's collection.

High Ranch Home
(Design/Build)

The design of this 3200 sq ft High Ranch home maximizes sweeping views of the Stuart Mountains and Kittitas Valley - another collaboration between design-build team of Joanne and Werner Hillemann. The expansive Great Room view wall includes concealed custom steel lateral framework to maximize the amount of glazing (windows and doors) facing the Stuart range. Another challenging obstacle involved the extreme site conditions of sloping solid basalt rock columns, into which the foundation had to be excavated and constructed. The foundation, sometimes going five feet into the basalt had to be tied-in/anchored to the rock at various locations, as some columns were too large to move with conventional machinery.
