Why Hillemann Homes?

  • Suncadia Resort Experience.  Over six years of experience working in the Suncadia Resorts.  Involved in the construction of over 18 homes - personally running projects, over-seeing them and consulting on them.  Currently working as consultant for the resort, which gives me an intimate understanding of Suncadia's design and construction process and its requirements.

  • Broad experience/knowledge base (Residential and Commercial markets).  As a carpenter, superintendent, project manager, building inspector, and now owner of a construction company.  I’ve been involved in every aspect of building.   As a commercial Project Manager, I’ve been involved in a diverse range of projects, including the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Columbia Center Heights office buildings, Hallett Movie Theatre, and Sandhill/Red Mt. Winery.  During this time, I learned new methods of construction, and worked with materials on a whole new level and scale - an experience that still carries over to some of the larger, more complex projects.  As a Building Inspector, I’ve inspected both residential and commercial structures for adherence to codes, and in the process broadened my understanding of the construction process from a new and very valuable perspective.

  • Extensive range of construction methods and materials.  I've worked on conventional wood-framed structures, timber frames, SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels), pre-cast & site-cast concrete (including tilt-up), and pre-fabricated steel framed structures.

  • Construction Education.  Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.  Graduated top of class with honors.  Former certified Building Inspector.  Continuing education classes.

  • Proactive philosophy.  Efficiency is a positive for everyone involved, it makes for a shorter and more cost-effective project overall. There are a lot of decisions and options that go into a custom home, and knowing how, why and when to address them is key, as they all have their place and relationship in which they provide the most benefit.  By identifying and addressing every project variable as soon as possible, potential impacts can more easily be avoided, monetary and otherwise.

  • Design/Build experience.  As a residential builder and commercial project manager, I've participated in several successful design/build projects, some of which were even “fast-tracked”—building as design was being completed.

  • One point of contact.  Hillemann Homes has one owner, superintendent, project manager, and one accountant.  And they’re all the same person with a single associated fee, whose utmost concern is to provide the best home possible.

  • Attention to detail.  Directly responsible for the ‘education’, ‘proactive philosophy’ and ‘one-point-of-contact’ categories mentioned before, this more than anything else has allowed me to excel in the field I’ve chosen.  I am attentive and organized, and don't want anything to be compromised through layers of communication, so I am directly involved in every detail of the construction process.

  • Established contacts and relations.  I’ve lived and worked in Kittitas County for over 20 years, and have established firm relationships with the local tradesman, building department and resort communities.  I worked as Building Inspector for the Building Department and currently work as a consultant for Suncadia Resort.

  • Affordable.  A single fee for someone who limits their overall workload to allow for being directly involved in every detail of the construction process is a better deal than having to pay a variety of fees to a variety of people.

  • Variety of delivery methods.  Every project is different with regards to how complete the design and finish details are once the builder is involved or construction is needing to start.  To reflect that reality, there are different delivery methods or contracts available that can be customized to fit almost any scenario, and to benefit all parties involved.
